When it comes to creative photography we strive to be unique. Every individual has his or her preferences in how they compose, create and process their image. Some photographers love the work of black and white, and some enjoy doing sepia. Others like to add vignettes to their images while others love to bake their image in an HDR Soup of tone-ful beauty. Whichever it may be, it all boils down to the same things in the end, the emotion, power and the 1,000′s of words captured in that single frame.

Today we will learn about a creative processing technique known as texture blending. This technique is famous throughout the grunge photography community. The types of images you create with this little trick envelopes a sense of darkness and raw powerful emotion not always captured in a low-key image. With texture blending you can create an image that further amplifies the already captured emotion in the photograph. Take for example, A photo of a dried dead rose taken in black and white now cries even more when a texture treatment has been applied.
